UPDATE ON SULE!

We’re relieved to share that Sule is stable and doing much better. His thyroid levels are normal, and the vets believe his heart issue may be linked to his time as a stray, where poor nutrition took a toll. The good news is that with proper care, this can be reversed.

After 3 injections to lower his heart rate and reduce fluid, his x-ray showed significant improvement. He’s responding well to his meds, and his breathing has been much easier thanks to Furosemide.

While we’re cautiously optimistic, Sule is anemic, and it’s non-regenerative, which could point to a bone marrow issue. We're waiting on the full CBC results. His wound culture confirmed he’s on the right antibiotics, so we're treating the infection, which may be contributing to his anemia.

For now, we’re letting him heal and will recheck in a week, or sooner if needed. Thank you for all your love and support — it means the world to us.

SULE GETS A SECOND CHANCE !

Earlier this week, a good Samaritan found a severely injured stray cat and reached out for help. Many people, including compassionate cat advocates, offered support and funds toward the cat's veterinary care. The finder brought the cat to Animal Humane Society Coon Rapids, which was unable to intake the cat. A community service officer, then, took the cat, but shockingly, released/dumped the cat into an unfamiliar area -- injured and vulnerable.

Thankfully, a small group of independent rescuers worked tirelessly to find this cat. After five days of suffering alone, Sule—named after the SFAAR volunteers who helped rescue him -- was tracked down, live-trapped, taken to an ER, and transferred to South Shore Veterinary Clinic, who graciously agreed to see him on a Saturday. His condition was dire -- severely dehydrated, anemic, with abscessed wounds and broken teeth -- but after treatment, he's starting to improve! This friendly boy, also FIV positive, is now on the road to recovery in foster care with SFAAR, but he still needs continued care.

If you'd like to help contribute to Sule’s life-saving care:

• Donate to Sule's GoFundMe: https://tinyurl.com/mruypd2m or
• Call South Shore Vet at 651-464-4210 on Monday to contribute directly to his care.

Thank you! And a huge thank you to the rescuers, the ER team, and South Shore Veterinary Clinic who gave Sule a second chance at life. Here’s to many happy days ahead for this sweet boy.

Highlighted Cats

I’m Boy George, with a sweet, laid-back vibe and a dash of playful energy.

I was found as a stray, and while no one came forward to claim me, I haven’t let that dampen my spirit. I can be a little shy at first, but once I feel at ease, I’ll happily lean in for some pets and companionship.

I get along well with other cats but would be just as content as your one-and-only. With my mature, dignified charm—and just enough spunk to keep life interesting—I’m the perfect mix of mellow and fun.

All I’m missing now is a cozy spot and a loving forever home. Maybe that’s with you?
